Finally put together my 2015 Lid tonight and swapped out the stock thermo for a Tel Tru BQ100.  Love the new handle and "taco" holder.. lol  Just need to call Weber back and have them send me the small damper handle insulator, couldn't pull it off my old lid without bending up the metal.

Made some Yoshida's Chicken Kabobs after to test it out..

Troy

Nice! Where's the best place to buy that thermo?

Yeah currently $26 shipped, I think I bought mine there as well. http://www.kck.com/tel-tru_grill_smoker_thermometer.html

Nice work Dan.

and "taco" holder.. lol
@Troy -- new contest idea: First person to somehow use that to cook or warm a taco gets a special prize. Might need Tel-Tru's Roadkill thermometer for that.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Nice swap on the thermo. Kebabs looks really good.

The all black lettering on Tel-Tru looks very cool on the black Kettle.
"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

Looks great!

A few BQ100's are going on my Holidaze wishlist!
I cook on: Backwoods Gater, Lang 36, Hunsaker Smokers, Pellet Pro 22" WSM, BGE's, WSM's, Cajun Bandits, PK Grills, Drum Smokers, Genesis Silver C, Weber Q's, Cookshack 008, Little Chief, La Caja China #2, Lodge Sportsman...oh yeah! Weber Kettles! Kamado restoration and pit modification hack!

no celcius?  so these won't work on my UK kettles then?  damnit.

nice work, they look badass on all black.  very tuxedo!
I only use kettles with lid bales.

So far after the first cook the thermo is pretty good, I use it as reference to see what overall range my grill is at more so than exacting grid temps which I use my DOT and air temp probe for that purpose.  The OEM weber thermo would stick at times and fogged up pretty bad during a 9 hour smoke I did a few weeks ago so this was a good upgrade for sure.

My BQ-100 has fogged as well, but it un-fogs too.
