Weber club to the rescue!
« on: November 09, 2014, 07:23:35 AM »
First and foremost,
Thank you to everyone, especially argent flame (Alvin) and dazzo (Rick)! They came through with not only parts and pieces to convert the other grill I bought, but also another whole GRILL!! For those of you who do not know what I am talking about, recently I posted concerning building a bbq place for all the troops I work with at the JSpOC (Joint Space operations Center). I was asking for donation (free grills and parts) due to the fact that this place has 150+ working at all times. Some posted here they wanted to donate money, which turned out to be a no-go. I bought a natural gas weber in ok shape not knowing there were no hookups for it, we only have propane. The flavor bars were toast, and with the legalize not letting us accept money, it looked like this project was on hold.

Enter team Cali. Argentflame and the crew came through big time with a free propane genesis, flavorizers, cover, and parts to convert our natural gas one to propane! This is what the club is about. I'll definitely make sure that I post photos of us around the grills as a thank you. Thanks again to everyone and our first cook has to be... Tri-tip maybe? We shall see!

I am resurrecting this forum post to give everyone an update. Its been almost 2 years and I can say again thank you. I am still here on VAFB as a civil service/one weekend a month reservist guy but these grills have been used for many MWR/fundraiser things from burger burns to the Chaplain cooking some lunch for everyone (over 300 people). Again, thank you everyone for donating. These grills are well loved. Our most recent excursion was a burger burn for 9 SOPS fundraising for our annual Christmas party. Ive been MIA for a long time due to some new additions and movement in my job but hopefully Ill be back active and posting.
