Aftermarket Wheels
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:10:48 PM »
Is there a source for nicer wheels that are the same size and compatible with Weber?

Thanks, Pete

You can get something like what my buddy Jeff (Winz) did on Jerome & Bisbee.....

I believe they may be lawnmower or wheelbarrow tires.....click on each pic to get a better view....

Several people have done similar things & old style training wheels have worked out well for the really ancient type kettles ( thin, w/ hard rubber tire)

I am also looking for something like this style: http://www.amazon.com/Steel-Wheel-Rubber-8-Inch-1-75-Inch/dp/B001W6Q4SI/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1410791824&sr=8-14&keywords=lawn+mower+wheels#productDetails

Anyone have one that they have used that they know fits? Wanting to paint them green to match my grill..

Thanks

Tom

Like Ron said, the axle diameter is critical.
My local hardware store has bushings that will reduce a 1/2" hub to 3/8".
A bunch of black kettles

there's probably a sleeve that would work as well as the bushings, just throwing that out there.
I only use kettles with lid bales.
