Thanks!  I figured there was a difference I wasn't aware of. I never noticed that even though I have both.

Yeah I think on the newest grills the lid vent is in line like the 18" were. And the lid thermometer is opposite side of handle. I don't like the new designs.

I DO LOVE the 18.5"s. Blue OTG is my go to for smaller cooks. Smoke is still a looker,  ;)   Pat# Yellow, Red Mist "M", Blue OTG "DU", Black OTG "DZ",  Euro Smoke OTS (converted to OTG) "AH"

It's not just a grill, it's a WEBER

My one and only 18".  Dumpster rescue 1984 F code that I did some clean up on.  Installed a new ash sweeper and added the ash catcher.  It will get a full overhaul in the spring.  I am really enjoying cooking on it.

Ok, not only need smokey joes, now I need 18.5... what a great line up of kettles...........@ Harris92, is that orange?...The reason I asked is the origanal owner of the weber dealer I use told me he used an orange kettle for years as his daily cooker.

Here's my fleet of 18"s.  The black one was left out with the trash and I haven't had time to clean it up.  It appears to be a 1981 going by the vent code.  The green bud grill is a green bud grill...it's green which is neat.  It needs work too, but is fully operational and a pleasure to cook on.

Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

While the rest of my collection took shelter from Hurricane Matthew in the garage, this little guy braved the storm and cooked our meals for two days when the power went out.

Thanks.  We were very very fortunate, but I have friends and family who weren't so fortunate and are still going through some stuff.

Charlie, I am glad you and yours are ok.

My little old cooker hasn't had to brave any elements like that.
