Question converting an 18.5 OTS to OTG

So here's my situation.  A couple of months ago I picked up an old 18.5 One Touch Gold in pretty sad shape, but the ash catcher assembly was good so I figured I'd make use of it someday.  So now a guy about 30 minutes away is selling a relatively new 18.5 One Touch Silver in nice shape.  It's got the newest handles (dark gray) so I don't think it's more than a couple of years old.  So I was wondering if the new 18.5 OTS has the notches in the legs to just insert the clips from my old ash catcher assembly.  Anyone know if the newer ones still ahve those notches?

Thanks.

Great.  That's exactly the response I needed.

Thanks!

Have a look at the shape of the bottom vents. When i converted my g-code I noticed that the vents are longer and thinner than the newer donor 18. I had to remove the OTG setup from the g-code because ash was falling on the outside of the bowl ring.

So the kettle you converted was a G code and the vents were longer than the newer ones?  If I understand that correctly, I don't think it'll be an issue.  The 18 that I pulled the ash catcher assembly was off an older kettle and the kettle I'm converting is relaitvevly new.  Based my interpretation of what you're saying, the vents should be short enough on the new kettle to fit fine in the old ash catcher.  Is that right?

This is correct. One the older 18" OT kettles the vents had a larger outer diameter which was a little larger than the newer one gen with the otg compatibility. This vent change did not affect how the sweeps fit though.
