BigRix,

If you go with the wok idea, and are not dead set on a twist on style, you could always go this route:

if someone wants to draw up the details in solidworks or some other engineering software, I can hit some of the fab shops near me and get some quotes.

The metal working guy next to me said it'd probably cost $10 to make ;)

And seriously - if that's the case - i'll have a dozen or so made and sell them at cost.

This has to be the ticket guys.

Hopefully these photos are a little helpful for you.

First pic is measured across the pan from end to end.  Came to 18"

Second pic is with the tape measure flat inside the curve of the pan.  Came to just over 19"

Third pic is from center of each leg cutout.  That was about 13"

Fourth pic was the height of the pan.  Came to about 4"

Last pic showing how it sits on the legs.

How far down the legs does it sit. Looks like about 5"

I think I might try this type of set up with the wok.

Does this ash pan have the same measurements as the twist style?

Winz, did you have any more of those clips made up? If so, I would like to buy some from you.

This seems like the easiest to make out of a wok. Hole saw and a dremel for the slots and a drill and rivets or bolts for the clips.

Winz, what did you use to attach the clips? I forgot and can't find your post again.

Do y'all think ash would help season the wok and I could still cook on it? :)

Just sent out my last set to another WKC member, but I can have some made for you this week.  Just let me know.  The hooks will be punched but not drilled - that way you can choose your own diameter fastener.  I used little bolts but rivets would work just fine.

I actually have an extra set I got from Winz.  I can share them if you need them.   If you want them send me a message.  I used small pop rivets on mine

I was cleaning my kettles this weekend and noticed that the rolled edge twist pan I have fits the 26"... it's high up on the legs (just over 2" from the bottom of the bowl). My flat top is an H, so it has the One Touch system. It catches all the ash, no problem. Not sure if that type of twist pan would work with a daisy wheel 26er, though....

Yeah the old 22 twists WILL fit a 26er but they do sit high up against the bowl. Its almost the equivelet of an 18 pan sitting up under a 22 bowl.
