Doubled my weber footprint
« on: July 20, 2014, 12:34:16 PM »
Did some driving this morning to add some webers to the deck.

I picked up the Blue Performer and the 18.5" WSM.  The 22.5" Kettle and Genesis are long standing citizens, now with new company.

Both are in great shape. Hosed and brushed them out, they cleaned up nice. Both are ready for duty with no work needed. Excited to give the propane assist a go for starting my next charcoal chimney.

The WSM had a date code of DA, thinking I may add the heat shield to the bottom with new parts. Will the leg kit from the newer models bolt up so that I can add the heat shield?

The wife has commented that I have a ridiculous amount of grills now. I need to show her some of ya'lls collections.

Couple of nice scores. That WSM looks pretty clean for it's age.

The WSM had a date code of DA, thinking I may add the heat shield to the bottom with new parts. Will the leg kit from the newer models bolt up so that I can add the heat shield?

Don't waste your money. There is no need to add the heat shield. I cook on a short wood table and it never gets that hot.
I've got Webers. 10 - WSMs, 5 - 22.5" kettles, 2 - 18.5" kettle, 2 - SJS, 2 - SJP, 4 - WGA, 1 vintage Coolie Pan

Good to know. When I do my first smoke I will break out the laser thermometer and take some measurements, that will probably put my mind at ease enough.
