Pork roast on the roti
« on: July 13, 2014, 09:08:40 AM »
I've been getting these bagged up pork roasts lately. There actually two pieces of loin together in a bag but they call it a roast anyway . The roti rod fits between the two loins nicely , I injected the roast with creole butter, rubbed with salt and pepper and made some beans with what I had handy, which was pork and beans , onion , garlic , creole butter and bacon . I put the bacon on top of the beans to crisp up and added some BBQ sauce . I set up  for indirect cooking with a small water pan and a chunk on cherry wood for smoke I put  the beans under the roast for the drip effect and basted the roast with BBQ sauce We grilled some asparagus and made a salad to go along with .

Grate lookin'  cookup.......i see the loins packaged like that too.....with & without the net.....the double up is, I believe, now you can't hardly get the good big size ones that could be cut to monster pork chops.....

Anyways.....snazzy setup, great beans & I like the flavor combos !!!

That pan of beans blocking more of the direct heat worked wonders for this meat , it added almost an hour to the cook time which in this case was magic .....or maybe it's the creole butter all I know is I'm not changing a thing :)

Breakfast , thinned sliced and a perfect smokey flavor.

Hmm that's a tempting offer!
And I love finding "local" meat products so I'll definitely be on the lookout.
