Something elegant about a black kettle with wood handles.  Understated beauty.

Hard to believe that grill is almost 20 years old already.  Very nice.  Its funny, I look at those nice original handles, and Brian's are still nicer looking!  Especially the finish on them.

Great grill.  So what's the first cook going to be?

The photos are striking.  For example, can you recall ever seeing a kettle with wood handles so pristine that they still have burrs on them?

(And yes, new Brian Handles are far superior)

I'm relatively new to the game and am already realizing I haven't paid enough attention to the black kettles. I think it might be because you see so many abused ones that have lived hard lives so at first glance they don't seem as special or something? Elegant is a funny word for a BBQ but it really is the perfect description!

I love old kettles with character but I've got an extra soft spot for shiny new. My performers all get cooked on but due to limited space the rest of my small collection mostly stays inside. This one will more than likely stay pristine.

I gotta agree ... that is elegant. 

I like the older box ... says 22½" ... not 22.5", and there is no metric. 
I know we use metric for a lot of things here in Canada .. but, it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Pretty interesting.  I've got 1996 BNIB 18" with the Olympic Logo and it's a 3-wheeler, vs. the one-touch.  The handles look the same as yours but I'm surprised that my grill, which is a year newer has the older style vents.

Left over bowls to use up would be my guess, that's a cool grill , pics ?

I've got to get it out of the box someday here soon and get some pics.  Need to do it when the wife's not around.  This is part of my hidden stash of grills buried in the basement.  The only pic I have is one from the eBay listing where I bought it back in March.  I forgot that it's a '96 Olympic Bud.  I have a big '96 Olympic Collection and this will be displayed proudly with that collection (once I break it to the wife).
