My Three Step Weberitis Recovery Program
« on: May 23, 2014, 03:35:27 PM »

Step 1.

Thank Craig for his help and patience while putting up with my questions, and his inspiration and detailed documentation.

Step 2.

Apologize to Jeff for what I'm about to do.

Step 3.

Screw the recovery!!!
It's Weberitis - there is no known cure.

Just get carried away...

I'm off to Weber school...

Now, where'd I put my hat and apron?

Dude, relax your chicken.

His is so cool, I just had to replicate it...

Thanks for the find Jeff!

Dude, relax your chicken.

:)Great job on the tray/table I like how you rolled the edges over and put the assembly together. But the funny part is the DEMO lettering that you told me about last weekend.

That is badass!!!! I love the detail and the way you mounted the triangle to the front leg blows away what attempted by leaps and bounds. I've been thinking of making the "sharp corner" triangle like yours and this gives me some inspiration! Love the Demo stamp too! I hope you show some cooks on it! 8)

Outstanding work!

Oh man, I going to try that too!  Oh wait, I don't have a MLH kettle.  Oh well, back to Craigslist.
Nice one, Dazzo.  You definitely need a hat and apron now.

I think that you did a great job.  No need to apologize for anything.  I'm glad the grill I found inspired you so much.  When I found mine, and saw the ashpan was missing, the first thing that came to mind was how cool it would look to put the triangular pan on the bottom of it.  After seeing yours, I must say...it looks like it belongs there!  Very nice work.

Please tell me more about how you did the "DEMO" stencil.  Is it just painted on?  Will it most likely just rub off when you clean it?

I was just having fun, so I didn't want it to be permanent. I just drew up some lettering on a piece of scrap paper and cut them out with a new X-ACTO blade. Sprayed the back with some artist adhesive, lined them up and stuck them on.

Then did a photo shoot. The Tailgate Sisters weren't available, so it was just the kettle    :o

When I did the cook, as the lid warmed up, I just peeled off the letters and wiped it down. Back to the plain Old Man without the tattoo.
