Some days are better than others. Today the sun came out, the temps cracked 80, and the tulips made their appearance. I thought to myself: "Why don't I take a magic trip back in time and visit George Stephen in his backyard?" We all know the story. George built himself a brick Bar-B-Que out behind his home, and it did not go well. It was bad enough in fact, that he was inspired to cobble together something new. Something better...

Fast forward to today. I had a rare opportunity to recreate the scene staring both George's brick Bar-B-Que AND one of the first ever Weber kettles. Don't ask me how, just enjoy!

Where else but the WKC would you see this? And to top it off, there's much much more to come! (I know, I know, it's the ultimate tease.) Watch the gallery this weekend for the full photo-shoot. Epic only begins to describe how it felt to be transported back in time. 1952 was a very good year!

At it again huh? Good stuff Marty, can't wait to see the rest of the photos.
Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.

Actually, I don't know the story yet. Where do I find it?

Well, damn!  You get to mosey on over the George's backyard and see the brick failure that led to the creation that changed backyard cooking the world over and break out an original buoy kettle?  Sounds like a meet waiting to happen.  Party at George's!

Awesome, Marty! The last pic I saw of that brick setup wasn't as breathtaking. The original kettle certainly helps!
"Have you hugged your Weber today?"
