« on: April 12, 2014, 08:43:54 PM »
Had some time to tinker today. Robbed the hardware off the little blackie I got last month. I'm still messin with the table.

(No brownies were harmed in the making of this photo shoot. Ash ring is screwed to legs.)

Im not sure where it came from.  It came in this little wooden cart.  The cart still needs work but I figured I should use the kettle.

I bought the cart and kettle in Arlington Tx a few summers ago.  The seller told me that his father had purchased it new and had been sitting out in the weather since he passed away.  Im not sure why the kettle is the way it is.  Handles and tabs...go figure.

here is a link to more photos of kettle and cart.

Sweet looking OTG MOD. That table looks like it would restore nicely and make a nice mini Sequoia especially with the updated gold can.

I know I'm a little slow on the uptake but let me see if I understand. This was an 18.5" originally sold with a Sequoia-like wooden cart. Hence the 3 tabs and shorty legs. Very cool. Don't recall such a thing mentioned before.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

So where's the table now? I've never seen one like that, but it is embossed with the Weber logo, so it may very well be a factory item. From the photos, it looks like a good candidate for a thorough restoration (disassembly, sanding & refinishing, reassembly). I don't know if we've ever seen one like this, either.

I still have the cart. It's in the shed. I'm currently looking to buy a house and don't have space on apartment patio for full project of this magnitude. I need to reshape some of the planks and replace the bottom frame. Just need time and some space.
