SS Performer Conversion in Copper
« on: December 23, 2013, 09:23:30 AM »
Has anyone put a Copper bowl/lid on a SS performer frame?  I am toying with the idea of ordering a new bowl/lid and putting it into an existing SS frame I have (along with some dark wood handles from Brian).  Would love to get an idea of what the finished product would look like.

Is the bowl you are thinking of ordering for a Performer?  I know they make the "new" copper Performer for the 2014 year.  Otherwise, if its not a Performer bowl, you won't have a good way of mounting it to the frame of the cart.  By the way, I think ANY colored bowl and kettle look nice in the SS cart.  Here is one I made up earlier this year.

Here is what your brownie or copper might sort of look like if you make one.

Jeff,

I was thinking of doing exactly that - ordering a new bowl/lid/lid holder and mounting it in my SS frame.

I love the green conversion you did - was that a performer bowl or did you fabricate mounts?

Neither a copper nor an SS, but it's still kick-ass:

Jeff,

Not my grill.  I read about it on this very interesting web site: http://kesterhouse.com/exterior/engawa.html

The owner fabricated the table from a slab to Ikea butcher block countertop.  The basting jar on the front holds oil for the Craycort grates.  I think the whole set-up is brilliant.

Brian,

If you could fabricate a table like that I'd order it right away.

That butcher block table on the Performer looks amazing.  Wonder what something  like that would cost.
