$25 Estate Sale Pickup
« on: October 18, 2013, 11:46:45 AM »
My son and I took a ride 1/2hr south down I57 today and picked up this pristine Pat.# 18. Yes, its black but its in phenomenal shape and is a good match for my 22 MBH. All I did was wash it up with some soap and water.

Love me some estate sales.  :)  Nice score on the 18!
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Incredible.

Doesn't look like it's ever been cooked on.
I've got Webers. 10 - WSMs, 5 - 22.5" kettles, 2 - 18.5" kettle, 2 - SJS, 2 - SJP, 4 - WGA, 1 vintage Coolie Pan

Might have been cooked on 1 or 2 times as the charcoal grate had a little grease on it.

That's amazing. I'm still surprised by those who buy a grill, barely cooks on it AND leaves it inside for 40 years. That's museum quality right there.

It's all good Ken, I've grown to appreciate the 18s as long as they are in great shape. I may have more 18s than 22s at this point.

Nice! That is a keeper..... Nothin wrong with black my friend. It is probably my favorite color of kettles.  I really like the wavy texture of the porcelain on those older kettles.
