I'm coming out with my teenage daughters for April break and was looking for fun/cool places to visit. They're 16/18 and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT want to do little kid stuff. More like funky restaurants/roof decks- stuff like that. We're staying on Pacific Beach and am renting a car. I figure one must will be San Diego Zoo but after that, not totally plugged in with the fun stuff to do in the area.

Thanks for any tips!

@captjoe06 I hope you and the girls have a blast !! There are some really cool restaurants and bars in La Jolla to see with bay views and a neat group of people in the area
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

The Zoo is always good

If they like Lego and amusement parks, there's Legoland

Old Town San Diego is interesting too. Make sure to grab fresh tortillas along the walk towards town
Dude, relax your chicken.

I have been living in San Diego for awhile. It is a great place to visit with a ton of stuff to do!

Another member recently visited the San Diego area. I typed up some recommendations for him, and if you send me your email I'd be happy to forward you the info. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out and I'll try and answer them. If not, have fun! You really can't go wrong!

My goodness I just edited my original post. They absolutely do not want to do any little kid stuff. We're definitely going to the zoo for sure after that I'm thinking some roofdeck restaurants, Garnett street, La Jolla but not sure after that.

I second what TJ said.  Here's a quick short list off the top of my head.

Zoo
Balboa Park
Old Town (and Old Town Mexican Cafe)
Mission Beach (Belmont Park)
Petco Park (if their into sports/baseball)
Sea Port Village
Silver Strand (Hotel Del)
Sunset Cliffs
Torrey Pines Gliderport
Gaslamp Quarter
USS Midway (a little history,  aircraft carriers are ginormous)

Enjoy America's Finest City.  I can't wait to go back ...

Thanks for the recommendations, we had a blast.  Went to Little Italy for the Farmers market, La Jolla for lunch and to see the sea lions, hung out on Pacific Beach, checked out Liberty Station, The San Diego Zoo. Really good time and easy to navigate.
