Tons of fun with those - my favorite way to make wings and thighs.  Have fun!

A wonderful way to cook chicken. Wings, thighs, quarters. Easy and quick.

Just watched a video on Schuey's bbq youtube channel where he made bread burgers with a kettle cone (square vortex)
They look pretty good, I'm going to have to try it out.

In my opinion, a kettle with the Vortex is the absolute best way to cook chicken wings.

Any pointers, tips, etc.?  I read through the vortex website list so I got the general concept.

One thing I wasn’t certain of was the timing to cook.  Just looking for a ballpark time.  Thanks all

Always been 30-45 mins for me.  I rotate the lid 45 degrees every 15 mins.  Not sure if it helps or not but makes me feel like I’m proactively controlling an even cook…. : )

That’s helpful. Vortex says every 5 to 8 minutes. I’ll probably be packing them in (some space between) so I’m guessing the longer end of 45 minutes then.

Wings were a hit!  One friend commented how he thought they were way better than ones from a local BBQ establishment.  He had to keep walking away from the platter.  No leftovers of them, oh well.   I’m sold on the Vortex and wish I hadn’t waited so long to get one!

Two packs of 24 full wings were squeezed in.  I did the flats with a spiceology Korean BBQ and the drumsticks with meat church Deez Nuts.  Block of hickory for smoke. About 1 hour total in the rain with 15 minute rotations.

I did use a different lid for it instead of the blue with custom @zavod44 handle.  During the burn in on Saturday, noticed the wood handle was pretty hot.  I didn’t want to damage it as it took a bit for Mr. Zavod44 to make.  Glad I had an “extra” black taco handle lid.
