Did I pay too much?
« on: July 05, 2022, 02:00:53 PM »
I was on my way home from the store this morning and I spotted this next to the road.
I stashed it in the weeds across the road until I could come back with my impact driver and wrenches.
Got it home and did some basic cleaning.  It is a natural gas model but has been converted to LP, well kind of.  They put on the correct regulator and hose but never bothered to change to the correct size orifices.  Pretty clean for a 2006 that has been sitting outside.  The flavorizor bars are porcelain steel but look almost new.  The stainless gates are the pressed  type but look OK too.  New orifices are on their way for $8.99!
Remember, FREE is always worth saving up for.  (BTW I found this less than 1/2 a mile from where I live.)

Nice score.  Where did you find orifices for only $8.99?
Those are separate but equally impressive score as well.

Amazon.  They are 0.5mm and need to be drilled out to 0.7 or 0.8mm.

I had to stash it.  I pulled up just as a scraper did.   Sketchy dude about a month over due for a shower in a beat-up white van.  We had a stare down for about 20 seconds and he took off.   Guess he didn't want to tangle with a WKC member!!  Must have been the 3 kettle tats I have coming down under my right eye.

that's really a nice find, let me know if you need to borrow some money to offset the cost
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Grate find, and even better price!  Looks like a good cooker, congrats.  Love the weeds part of the story...

I finally got around to doing my first cook on this grill.  Left the 3 burners on high for 20 minutes and buried the hood thermometer!!!

That is a very nice grill although a steep price but good looking, i love the flip up side tables which gives you so much room. I have 2004 open base model the Silver C and it is great i paid a lot more 150 for mine but it was worth it for my needs.
