26” Performer Build
« on: May 30, 2021, 07:00:05 PM »
Hey all.

Bought a $40 old performer fo FB Marketplace. Repurposed the frame, new paint, new hardware etc. Unknown BBQ mounts for the Kettle.

Made the table with 1x4 cedar, biscuit joined, and bolted to some angle iron that I cut and drilled to size.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out, however, it’s the third most expensive grill cart in human history, due to the price of lumber alone.

Bonus, is I saved the 22” kettle from the original performer. I also found free Weber legs on CL. Rebuilt the 22” fully functionally and am gifting to my younger bro for his first full size Weber. (I previously bought him a Smokey Joe)

That is an awesome build and a sweet deal. I picked a old used 26" for $100 and was excited.
I do totally hear you on the lumber thing. I built mine out of pallets.

A 26” for $100 is a steal. I bought mine new 5 years ago with my first house. I’m never going back to 22” as my daily driver.

Love the cart and the victory cocktail. I here you about lumber, trying to finish building the railing around my 24x24 deck and it is nuts
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Great looking build!
My daily driver is a 26" kettle and I really like the extra room compared to the 22"

Cheers
