I have zero experience with Weber gas grills and found one locally that I'm considering.  The red color interests me, otherwise I'd probably not even look.  Can anyone ID this model and give a guess on the manufacture year?  I've seen the beautiful restores here with nice wood and full functionality.  Might be a fun addition to my Weber family.

Thanks a bunch!

Frame looks great, durawood is good and paint on the firebox is even nice. I would bite.

I am bad at the names genesis 1000 I think all parts are available.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Just buy it! It's a great gasser, you won't be disappointed!

And scored!  My first Weber gasser from the original owner.  EI code, so 1997 and he threw in a full tank of propane.  Got it all for less than a tank of propane at the grocery store.  Model Genesis 1100-LP.  All 13 flavorizer bars are there and in good shape as well as the SS burners and cast iron grates.  Fires right up, but I want to take it apart and clean it thoroughly this spring.

Congrats.  I have one like it in my restore queue.  90s open cart genesis grills are tanks.

Thanks Michael, first time I've been really stoked about a gasser.

Congratulations on the Genesis.
I love that vintage with the double flavorizer bars.
Very even cooking and like others have said they are built to last.

Thanks @Kneab .....  I've ordered a few parts for it already that cost more than I paid for it lol.  I'm glad the expensive parts are there and in grate shape.

I'll always remember that I bought this grill on George Stephen's 100th birthday.

Thanks Robert!  Yesterday was kinda gloomy out but warmer so I tinkered around with it a bit and did some cleaning.  It's coming along and quite a few new parts on the way.

Super solid grill. This generation is like legos so you can always mix and match parts if you find other genesis' with more features.

Very nice!  So far I've taken it apart, cleaned everything, replaced burners and flavorizer bars both with SS, replaced both warming grates, small drip pan and also the ignition chamber.  Used it for the first time last night - grilled chicken breast filets for our chef salads.  Cooks really evenly, better than any gas grill I've ever cooked on.

Congrats on the new/old first gen Genesis. Sounds like you got a great deal from the first owner...awesome. Nice job on the clean up and replacement parts. Burners run East and West on these, which make them great with a rotisserie if that interests you. Here is one I refurbished awhile back.
