Gas assist help needed
« on: October 18, 2020, 07:22:10 AM »
I have a ssp with the 5 lb tank and I hardly ever use it. Went to use it today and you can hear the gas pretty loudly leaking and smell is really strong. Any ideas as to what is causing it ?

Unless the leak is away from the end of gas tube in the bowl, what you've described sounds normal to me.

PS- get a length of wire and shove it into the tube end as far as it will go and work it around to clear out any obstruction. (mainly spider stuff)

Located the leak. It’s leaking at the bottom of the round dial coming from the tank. I’m assuming that’s the regulator ?

Sounds like the regulator

The very best solution I can think of is to ship to me and I will spend however much time it takes to thoroughly test it and find that leak! It could take a year or two.

On a serious note, I would love to find an SSP from that era. I have a brand new one and love it, but something about that stainless and the table top design is timeless.
