Howdy all,
Came across this page looking to figure out the year of recent acquisition, well it was my father in-laws and bound for the scrap...
It has the E code so figuring an 83 model. Not my 1st coal but my 1st kettle.
Lil history, been a gas guy and even accomplished a decent smoke and offset - but in no way the same.. Well 20yrs now with wife and my father in-law always used a coal grill (guessing a Brinkmann Smoke N Pit) and yeah so I was bitten back then. Quite a few years ago my elderly neighbor whose yard I kept up asked me to take his grill from the back of yard, prior to his passing. It so happened to be a Brinkmann Smoke N Pit, was in need of a restore and so I did.... The bite was deeper, it was a mirror of my father-in-laws, I perfected my coal techniques, ribs and butts mostly.. Now I'll still use a gas and my wife thinks I'm crazy for dragging this Kettle home but kinda eager to run something thru the old girl...
Hope I can bring back the exterior shine - Its' there when wet, fades a bit when dry...
