SnS with Rotisserie?
« on: September 02, 2020, 07:31:55 AM »
Used my rotisserie last week and loved in.  I used each charcoal basket on each side and a drip pan in the middle.

My question is with the Rotisserie work with the SnS?

I don't have an SnS but may pull the trigger, although the coal baskets have worked fine, so far.

Thanks in advance.

I own an SnS but never use it for my CB roti.

I prefer two Weber char baskets one on each side, like you described.

I use a rotisserie quite frequently and always use charcoal baskets on both sides with a drip pan or foil directly below the spit.  If I want more direct heat for charring I just move the charcoal baskets closer together.  I also have a SNS but have never used it with my rotisserie.  The SNS would work but is designed more for low and slow or two zone cooking (indirect and searing).

I use the pair together, and it works great.

I use sns with roti all the time including Thanksgiving turkeys.  Keep in mind the SnS profile is taller than the Weber baskets, therefore trussing the wings is necessary when using SnS.  If you go with the simple wing tuck only and the wing pops loose, you are likely to have a snag.

Can anyone tell me what the cut out rectangles are for on the bottom edge of the Weber ring?

They are cut outs for the lid bale bolts on a performer or master touch.
