Gas Go Anywhere - Heat Rocks?

I purchased a used second hand GGA a few days ago (the old model with the flavourizor bar) and I was wondering if anybody has ever used heat rocks with this setup?
I grew up with my old man using an old heat rock bbq and can’t see any disadvantages in using the GGA this way either.

Has anybody tried it? Better or worse?

They sold them like that for a couple years. I have one that came like that and doesn't have a button start.

Worked just fine and I gave it to my mom as she only cooks for 1 or 2.

Gotta rinse the rocks real good every once in awhile but works just fine.
