The things you see while looking for "stuff"

I was looking at some lamps online, when I noticed how the seller connected them up so they could show them lit.

Some people need to be watered twice a day to stay alive.
Wife said "No more GRILLS in this house!" So I bought a 2nd house!

Guilty. I’ve done that many times to test something missing a plug.

Just be careful @HoosierKettle .  I know it would work & you should be fine as long as you are careful.

In my workshop, I keep an old cord I cut off something I pitched.  It has a plug on one end & I stripped the wire bare on the other end.  I always use that with the wire connector nuts (or whatever they are called) or some electrical tape to test stuff.  Admittedly, it does take an extra couple of minutes.

Guilty. I’ve done that many times to test something missing a plug.

It’s been a long time and I doubt I will ever need to do it again. It doesn’t work well anyway unless I have my wife hold the wires in for me [emoji12]
