A 56 in OZ
« on: October 31, 2019, 03:32:50 AM »
On the 31st of August I came across a solid base 22 for sale on marketplace for $25. Being the first view I straight away I replied saying I was keen to purchase. A few hours past and the seller had read my message so I asked again if it was still available with no reply again. A few hours later he put the ad as sold and I thought I must have been done over by a random offering more. On the 1st of September I posted a photo to online finds asking if anyone had got it and no one put up their hand so left it at that. A week goes by and I am still thinking of this grill and thats when I decide to message the seller and ask for him to pass my details over to the new owners and let them know if they ever want to sell it let me know. The response I got was "they want $100". My reply was quick and short saying I could do that. Now I have heard of Nebraska but didn't have any contacts around that area so started searching within the forum to see if a local could assist.  I came across "cumminfourya" and  decided to message them. Jake replied saying he was on holidays but could assist in a week on the way home as it was over an hour from his place. I asked if I could pay him so he had all the funds to get the grill and packaging together and he declined saying he has never be burnt buy a WKC member and trusts you guys. The day comes he swings by and grabs the grill for $100 then goes past Craig's house so he could have a look and get some photos also. After over 50 messages over the last 2 months it was packaged safely with the guidance of Stephen (many times even on the clean up of this one) and assistance from Jake's Brother. The grill was shipped (cost was virtually a chacoal summit) built as over the previous 2 months the thrumbscrews or legs would not budge at all. It has arrived safely in Australia and a few offers of trades came along the way in which all got declined as I believe Australia needed its first 56 here for some BBQ history within our country. Jake, I can't thank you enough and if it wasn't on it's way here I know for a fact it wouldn't have left your garage. Thankyou

Glad I could help and that it all worked out!!! It’s a relief knowing it made it there unharmed!!! Me and my brother  might have went over board on the packing but with something as special as that old girl i think it was necessary!!!
