Add a thermostat
« on: September 25, 2019, 03:33:53 PM »
I'm thinking to add a thermostat the top grill, on my Weber Performer.
Any suggestions?
I have the older model with the thermostat inside the handle

I did it on mine only because it had bad chip in the finish

I recently added one to my 22, and after having seen several how-to posts here and on YouTube, my only recommendation is to place close to where you would generally cook your food, relative to the lid, so you know what the temp is where your food cooks.  This is especially useful when cooking indirect or smoking.  In my case, I wanted the thermometer on the same side as the top vent but as close to the grate as possible.  Good luck and welcome from Highland Park, IL (north of Chicago)!
Wife: Let me guess... you want to grill again

Looks good Avey!  That's a sweet setup too.
