What rotisserie for my Genesis Silver A?
« on: June 14, 2019, 10:06:34 PM »
Looking to get a rotisserie for my Genesis Silver A.
The original model rotisserie is long out of production.
Does anyone know of a current production model that will work?
Thanks

I’d call Weber customer service or check the website in the parts and accessories section.  CS should give you the correct answer.  I have a Genesis Silver A too.  Grate little grill.  My first and only gasser.

You can find new or gently used Weber 9890 kits on ebay/craigslist/facebook marketplace pretty often, for $50 or less.

You can see that the shaft has grooves to work on both Silver As and Bs (it also works on my Genesis 3000).

They are out there for usually 40-50 bucks. Make sure they are complete though. They are often missing the motor mount bracket. If you have the bracket on your grill you’re good to go. Most people install the bracket on the grill and then stash the rest in their closet and never use them. After they get rid of the grill they realize they can get fifty bucks for the rest.

I did once find a company that fabs a bracket for about ten bucks plus shipping.

Also the motors are somewhat universal as long as the shaft size matches.

By the way that line of genesis grills are the best for roto cooks. With the burners running side to side they are an ideal machine for that.

Thanks for the info.  Found one for $35 on Craigslist.  Trying to contact the seller now.

Looks like the new model number is Weber 7659.  Says it fits Spirit 500.  If memory serves me right it is identical to the Silver A.

I secured it yesterday.   In original box, with instructions.  Heck even the motor is in its original box.  Used maybe once or twice.   Hope to use it next weekend.
