Hi all, fun story this evening...
Found a chestnut listed locally for $40, messaged @ 7 minute mark. She responded saying I was next in line, told her thanks, keep me posted, I could come by tonight if it fell through. She messaged me a half hour later saying “the first guy won’t give me a time, come and get it”. Hop in the car, twenty minutes later as I’m pulling up to her house I get a message saying “someone offered me 200 bucks, I have to cancel”. At that point my heart broke, but I was sitting in front of her house, she was outside so I said hello. She asked me “what would I do?” And that “my husband got mad at me for listing it, and it’s worth more than that”. I told her calmer than I should have been “hey, well you can sell it for more money, or you can honor the agreement you and I had”. She said “I know, I feel guilty”. Went in and talked to her husband and mom, and well the rest is history.
MLH chestnut.
Wood Dale, IL.
J clip ash pan.
Thumbscrew.
Rubber tread.
Four or five lid chips, and top handle missing some porcelain, but all things considered pretty rockin’. This grill definitely checks a lot of boxes for me.
Anyone care to venture a year guess? ‘62 or ‘63?
Super excited. And I will just say this real quick...c’mon people, don’t be trying to blow up people’s deals! Poor form. I’m grateful that even though the seller considered the offer for more money (which I understand), she had the integrity to honor her original agreement!
