Hello from Newnan GA SW of Atlanta. Originally from the Denver area.

Growing up my dad always had gas grills and that's what I used for years. Last year while researching BGE alternatives I stumbled across pellet grills. I picked one up off CL and I've loved smoking ever since.

I loved my pellet grill but using it is kind of boring, set it and forget it. Plus grilling on it was a pain. I want to get a kamado style cooker eventually but figured I'd make sure I enjoyed charcoal cooking first. Sold the pellet grill for just about what I paid for it which was just enough to cover a new 22"

Started researching Weber kettle and pulled the trigger. I turn 40 next week and prior to a month ago I had never cooked with charcoal. I always thought the Webers were the cheap grill, man was I wrong. Food that comes of this thing is amazing.

Welcome to the club! Love this story, kind of similar to mine. Never too old to discover the best way to cook outdoors.

Welcome aboard!  Love the copper!

Yeah I'm kicking myself now that new colors came out. The copper is cool though. I'm one of those people who hates having what everyone else has. The dark green didn't do it for me.
