Check out this gem I bought for $50 at an estate sale
« on: May 19, 2019, 12:14:32 PM »
Hi guys first post on this forum, but long time weber kettle and WSM user. Some guys on reddit told me to post this here for you. They figured you would like it. Check out this beauty I found at an estate sale. I plan to sand down the cart, and stain it. Has anyone on here restored one of these before? Can you recommend a stain that is similar to what weber originally intended.  Don't you just love a quality product that was built to last forever. Ah, should be the last kettle I ever need til I die.

First off, welcome to the Forum.  Congratulations on a picking up a beautiful Cado Sequoia.  Love the high fade ring on it.  Looks like a halo. There are several members that have restored them. I'm sure they will chime in with advice.

That is sweet!!  For the experts... would this be considered a ‘68?  Pre Pat Pending?

It really is. The bottom boards are a little rough. Other than that I think it was only cooked in once...
