What colors change when hot?
« on: April 10, 2019, 06:16:14 AM »
We all know the reds, red mist, and yellows get darker when hot. I know the CB grass green gets darker when hot. What about spring green or uline lime?  What all colors change? I was surprised the sage did not get darker. I don't think my ivory changes. My CB blue don't. Does the lemongrass? or the newer euro blues, Wedgewood, blue wave, turquoise? Do either of the grays get darker?

I'm not 100% certain but Avocado may get a bit darker with heat. When I first cooked om my Seville, I thought it looked a bit darker where the coals were, but that could have been just the light.

Also, if you put enough charcoal in and do it right, you can make a black grill glow red, but I've only seen this once.

The Key Limes of the 70's change color but are not as dramatic as red and yellows.   The Meat Cut Grill changes color.  I grabbed these images of the color change from a posting on Facebook.
The orange appears to darken dramatically.

I got one to glow. I have not been able to duplicate it again though.

Yup. My crimson does too. And if I reach across the vortex, my arms turn bright red...  :)

Beat me to it!  Discovered that with a bunch of grillfellas when it made its cooking debut (with me) at the first StL meetup!

Anyone know if either gray gets darker?   The lighter gray or the darker CB dove gray?
