XL Ash Catcher
« on: November 05, 2018, 12:22:50 PM »
I'm lazy...

So I extended my ash catcher.

Now I only have to bend over half as often.

There are more pics of the build but they are misplaced and Ill add them when I find them.

Here you can see the top & bottom sections of the pan. To cut it I drilled a hole exactly in the middle of the side, then put a jigsaw blade in the hole...and it was shake rattle & roll all the way around. Then i had to finger wrestle the aluminum flashing (its more challenging that you think) and drill & rivet it all together.

The handle is made from some iron wood flooring scraps. I used a big drill bit to hog out the space for the handle to fit but Im pretty sure @zavod44 could make one that would complement the other wooden goodys he makes, and wouldn't need JBWeld to hold it together.

You can't always get what you want....but if you try sometimes you get what you need
