« on: October 23, 2018, 09:48:42 AM »
Just curious I have done a few searches and did not find any information pertaining to this product but was curious if anyone has any experience with this table from home depot?

For that kind of money, I would buy a new performer or better yet find a used one for less.

Is the table setup available for purchase with a performer? I am kind of partial to the red kettle even though it keeps having chipping issues.

I just like the way the wood looked my biggest concern was would the kettle and the heat produced cause issues with the wood base?

This is like $50 work of wood and Bolts.  It still needs to be finished or sealed. This would be an awesome first time woodworking project.  You could get away with just doing this with a jig saw and a drill.

I do think its made for Big Green Egg type grills but you could like the the circle with some type of flashing.

So like some aluminum flashing tacked in place inside the circle would do the trick? I suppose I could attempt to make this on my own, this just looked like an easy assemble option haha.

The bigger problem would be where to put your lid. Your lid Bail with no longer be functional

Yea I saw that... as well, I dont know why I like the whole table setup it just makes storage easier as I live in a condo and have limited space so any and all storage is useful. I guess I could rig something, I thought more people would have had experience with something like this if not this one.

I'm with @azbeeking . That looks like a simple project. I wouldn't pay that money for it.

I built one similar to this one, but not as long. It does start to burn the wood if you have a real hot bed of coal. I just dump some water on it to stop it. I put 2 wheels on the grill side to make it a bit portable. The reason I made it the legs were broken.

But isnt that bad for the wood to burn with stain and seal on it? I mean along the lines of breathing it in etc?

Not a fan of PT wood plus way too much money. I had plans for one in a wood magazine complete with wheels but never built one. The lid ''hanger'' was a 3/4 or 1 inch hole near the edge. Worked out perfect in picture that I seen.

I can’t visualize the hole your talking about but it sounds like a hole for the lid hook?  His grill doesn’t have a lid hook I’m guessing since it has a bale.
