Best aftermarket thermometer for lid mounting?

Looking for a good, accurate thermometer to mount on my Weber Kettle lid.
What brand is best? Taylor makes good ones. Any thoughts?
What is the best location to mount the temp gauge? Top of the lid, or the side?
