C&B Blue Issue
« on: June 28, 2018, 05:08:22 PM »
I just noticed a bunch if scratches from the lid bale on my crate & barrel. This thing is just under a year old. Is this common or something I should look into for warranty?

You can call it in but the replacement lid might be black. Not sure if they are still making the blue anymore.

I stopped liking lid bale kettles, no need for a lid bale.

They should have them, as the C&B blue Performer is still available for sale.

Thanks guys, I may give them a call and see what they say.

Is there anything I could put on the bale to prevent this?

I've checked all my grills with lid bales (8) Six of these grills I got used, five were definitely rode hard and not one has these marks.

To avoid this problem in the future, rest the vent on the lid bale, simple!

Heeding yall's advice, I got a piece of gasket and split it. It laid over the ring perfectly and seems to be staying on pretty well.
