Getting hungry here. Is that a 22.5" or 23"  comal?

It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Very cool...I like the looks of that rig...
So how many coals do you use with that thing...
With my disco I only use a handful of lit coals and keep the bottom vents completely closed...

I got it from our local weekly farmers market and auction Denios... they are on Amazon search comal. If you have any local Hispanic markets they should have them there also.

I lit 3/4 of a chimney and dumped it into baskets vents full open... I was pretty happy with the results. I had a bit too much sugar in my marinade which caused a bit of scorching.

I really Really REALLY like that gizmo!! Does it have any sort of venting around the perimeter! Or does it sit in the hole of a GBS??

It sits in the hole of the GBS and leaves about a half an inch gap all around the kettle.

I think I am going to head down to Denio's and see if I can get it cheaper ;)

Or next time...we go together and bundle. 2 for 1?

Seriously though, nice cook as usual chef.
