Worked out great for my first smoke on your X.
Did 9# butt rubbed with my made up blend.
She ran 225-245 ° for 10 hours on RO Ridge. Filled my diy Basket and did a 5 lit briquete minion and used Apple chunks.
At 6 hours I had 1/4 coals left and mostly lit. I dropped in 18 more aprx. Took me past 10 hours 235°. Just used a cheap aluminum pan with a half inch of water at the beginning for drip pan.
Very happy with results. Only used one bottom vent cracked and top open full.
I may add some lava rock tape around the lid rim.
