SSP vs. Second Generation

Quick question for the group...
Is the kettle on a Generation 2 performer interchangeable with a SSP?  I have a SSP frame that is in good condition.  There is a Blue Generation 2 performer in my area with a frame that is pretty beat up, but the kettle seems to be in decent shape.  The Generation 2 performer is in the area, but still too far away to just go over and take a peek. The question is how are the kettles mounted on a Gen 2?  Does it use the same bracket mounting as the SSP? If not, is it an easy fix to convert?
Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated...

Weber customer service told me they are all the same bowl and mounts.  I’d be interested in the gen 2 frame if you go through with it.

Just measured both bolt patterns and the G1 and G2 are both 5” center to center
