$20 SSP
« on: January 05, 2018, 02:27:01 PM »
Went ahead and picked it up because for $20 why not.  Lid is rough and dented under handle.  Ash sweeps are rusted up and not sweeping. Has all accessories including the wire baskets match holder and manual.  Only missing the tank, but has the hose and adapter.  I have a new gen 4 bowl and lid. Anyone know if the gas system will transfer from the SSP to the  new gen 4.  Will old gas tube be compatible with a new regulator and hose?I know I will need a new ash catcher also to upgrade to a new bowl.  Not sure what I want to do yet just kind of exploring options. Would love to see it up and running but if nothing else I will just part it out and salvage the cart for another project.  Any ideas?

Gas tube fitting location should be the same across generations, and it should fit a new hose/regulator. How are the wire baskets? They are becoming rare in good shape. Have fun whatever direction you go.

Sketchy, but good for another 50 cooks I'd say. Load 'em up!

Grab a 6 pack & drink about it before you take it apart...butchering its not the thing to do. IMO
You can't always get what you want....but if you try sometimes you get what you need

I'd scrape it clean,  heat it up, and see what happens. Those ash sweeps might be real stainless and loosen up and start spinning with heat. You can get the bucket reattached. I'm coming on one that is likely in worse shape!

Nice score!
