N code taco performer.
« on: December 12, 2017, 02:46:11 PM »
I know everyone will go up in arms for putting a taco handle on a N code performer but i just had to do it out of necessity. I picked up the grill for free in the summer. The frame is in excellent condition. Bowl in very good shape except for 3 chips. Lid was in excellent shape except that the handle was totally rusted out.  It was barely hanging on only one side of the weld.  Not a welder so I just decided to fabricate 2 pieces of ss plate to hide the holes where the weld was. I smoothed out the holes using a rotary tool and sand paper. Painted with high heat paint and installed the 2 ss plates along with the taco handle. So here's my limited edition redhead.

I was showing my daughter the tasty mods on this and she says, "yeah, but what's wrong with the handle and wheels?"

A purist, at age 11.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Not a collector by any chance but i really wished the handle was in  a much better shape  when i got it  since this is my only old grill.  Just tell your daughter the handle was in life support that's why it ended up getting a taco transplant.

It had the proper wheels until yesterday. Just happens that i donated it to one of our members earlier today. Not a fan of the hard plastic weber wheels. Will be replacing it with "lawn mover" type of wheels shortly.

At first glance I thought this was the new LE red with brackets and a mod into a performer.

Bowl and lid is all original. Has slightly more damages than a typical nib red LE, but at least it was  for free.
