Has anyone done one of the Weber Grill Academy classes?  They actually look kind of fun.

You’ve been there, they have stuff every month.  These are offered at the Weber Grill restaurant Looks to  be $50-$85 per class/session/cook.

I’ve been to one in the Netherlands. What a wast of money that was. We got to chop up the veggies and the chef cooked. Only have the food got served. Complained to Weber. Got new vouchers for different location (gave it away) and the restaurant stopped giving Weber classes.

I'd looked into them, and I gotta say, while it seems like a fun idea, the classes that I've seen offered seem a bit basic, especially when you consider the cost. I'll have to re-visit the website and see if they're offering anything a bit more challenging.

Yeah, they do look kind of basic.  But I kind of like the idea of doing a bunch of variations of burgers or steaks or whatever all in one cook.  We should do a meet up there or something, maybe see if they would do a one-off cook with a bunch of the stl guys.

@Travis I meant you've been to the restaurant, maybe they didn't have academy stuff then.

No, you’re right. I was thinking about the mobile academy that Jim (Cellar2ful) had attended with others in another thread. I think it would be pretty fun and maybe it would be worth mentioning to the instructors that our group are not novices and maybe kind of cater around that. I’d love to cook on the new charcoal summit. A meet there sometime sounds like a no brained anyway.

Maybe they'd give us a special class and even offer a discount if we got the group in on something.

If we get enough members to commit, I bet we could get something going with them that is a one-off for us. Sure it’s a bit pricey, but it is a good meal and it’s pretty cool to play with their “toys” and hang out with the STL Q Crew!
