Anyone have plans on cooking up something special for the eclipse, especially those of us lucky enough to be in the path of totality? I'm hoping to get a picture worthy of the calendar during it.

I'm not changing dinner plans just because one big thing gets in front of another big thing. But I'm not in the path of totality, and I'm not all that great at the photos anyway...

I'm in the path of totality right now, but headed deeper in a couple of hours to get the 2min 20 second show.  1 min isn't enough.  I wasn't planning on grilling until we get back home though.

Trying to figure that out myself.  Took off work today to avoid traffic/hang with the family.   We have about 40 sec of totality here at home and would like to get a longer experience.  A vacation day is a great reason for a cook.   Good luck with the pict!

Whatever you decide, please don't cook your retinas.

We are in the path but I'm trying to figure out how to get a pic of the grill and the eclipse while at work...

Couple shots from Weldon Springs, MO.   Decided on brats and dogs for the kids.   Flank steak for fajitas for dinner.

Totality been and gone. But I made some chicken thighs, taters and sprouts for dinner.

Not eclipse related (we didn't even have Moon Pies for dessert), and no pictures, but we had bone-in pork chops on the grill, with fried potatoes and onions, and green beans. Oh, and cold beer, too.

I was not in the path of totality. Didn't Bother. All hype and a lot of people making a bunch of money off of it. It's a shadow for Christ's sake. Only thing I saw that was worth anything was when it was over.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

Looks good! What kind of pan are you using?

Thanks for the kind words.  Regarding the pan, just the ubiquitous woks you'd find at any Asian store.  Nothing special - though I am hunting for Weber original woks.

Nice! Looks like a perfect fit. The weber wok is also on my wishlist, but I might check out the woks at the Asian market first. Thanks for the info!
