Cleaned my yellow and cooked on it for the first time with my new rotisserie(thanks jperry1907)

The bowl and lid color changed almost instantly. Like a sunset 8)

Very nice looking chook on that fruity kettle. Is that the one that was on craigs a few months back by the lake? You are Brians friend then right? Nice score.

Cool pics!  I've never seen a yellow cooked on.  The birds look great too!  Did the color of the yellow change when it heated up?  I've heard it changes to an orangy hue?  Your one pic sort of looks like that color.

How long did you cook them?  I just picked up a brand new roti off craigslist and can't wait to try it out.

The one pic that I can see, the chicken looks awesome on the roti. Still can't see the other pics but the first time I saw a yellow heated up to an orangey glow I found a whole new love and appreciation for that color of kettle. Hope to add an 18 or a 22 yellow to the herd someday.

Here's his picture Craig. Looks like he has coals banked on the side where it's turning orange

Here is a pic after it was completely heated up. It was crazy to see it change to an orange hue. It might be hard to tell by the photos. I cooked the birds for about two hours at 375.

Great looking cook. I need to try my rotor on one of my fruits. I'm worried about the heat in the fruits and adding more crazing. But I think in the day, they used them with way more coals than we do. Plus they used lots of lighter fluid. Wonder what kettle temps were back then?
