Tasty Homegrown Poppers
« on: July 09, 2017, 10:41:32 AM »
I have this jalapeno bush right next to my grilling area. There are quite a few peppers on it too.

I finally decided it was time to do something with them. I only picked a few, along with a nice ripe tomato.

I sliced off just enough to hollow them out, so the cheese would hopefully not drip too much. I used some shredded mozzerella, long narrow slices of bacon and dusted with Weber "Kickin' Chicken".

I cooked them indirect, for about 15-20 minutes, with some leftover lump from another cook.

Done! Tasty little snack to have before starting dinner.

Nice!  Careful those home grown peppers pack more heat.

Very nice! Extra satisfying when you're producing the ingredients yourself.

Nice picture. I had no idea it looked like that. I thought maybe it grew on a low bush like banana peppers or green bell pepper. Kool.

Thanks for the nice response guys!

@captainhook455  The pic is kind of deceiving. The jalapeño bush is only about 3' tall and is in a pot that is about 18" deep and it is in the foreground.

I think some fire roasted salsa is next up for a few of these peppers.
