Rookie Question
« on: March 31, 2017, 08:56:50 PM »
I am looking to get my hands on my first non-hardware store bought kettle.  I found a 22 in Sam Adams kettle in blue and before going to pick it up I wanted to make sure you can cook on them.  I seem to remember reading in the past that the American flag kettle I'm sure most of us have seen was painted and couldn't be used to cook.  On the other hand I think I've seen some pics of a member cooking on a Homer Smokey Joe.

Thanks!

That American flag kettle apparently isn't a Weber. The Sam's and other logo kettles definitely are Weber cookers.

Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

Not all but most of SA come with a custom SS or CI cooking grate. Definitely get it if you like the Blue.
