Where were you in '62?
« on: February 26, 2017, 03:02:00 PM »
In honor of George, I thought it appropriate to turn the clock back to 1962. George would have been 41. Weber Stephen was celebrating the 10th anniversary of George's Kettle. A rare warm day in the Chicago area inspired George to fire up his latest model. Picture the scene.

Coals have settled in, and it's time for some Huli-Huli! (Luaus were all the rage at the demos these days, and George couldn't get enough Huli-Huli)

A cool breeze swirled across the kettle, the smoke wood making it's signature for the first time on the shiny top vent.

A couple hulis later, things were looking very good, and smelling even better.

Nothing left to do but wish George a Happy Birthday, and MAHALO for generations of memories.

Great tribute Marty. Nice effect with the monochrome and the Wood Dale.

I enjoyed your post, Marty. Made me think of the Weber Luau stories from back in the day.
