Whats the furthest a weber has traveled?
« on: September 27, 2016, 07:44:45 AM »
So I see the ads all the time in the forums concerning people buying Webers across the fruited plains and I was wondering whats the furthest a Weber has ever traveled? Were you in Washington and bought one in Florida? Or did you have an agent pick on up in Oregon and ship it to Maine? Ill start. I shipped a yellow from Cali to Georgia a couple of months ago to a member. Just curious. Also our European and Aussie counterparts feel free to post as well how far a Weber has traveled.

I believe more that a few have made the Chicago-OZ odyssey. I've shipped from PA to CA once or twice.

I bought a 22" lime on eBay from Cadillac, Michigan and had it shipped to Castro Valley, California. Google show the distance as 2,392.5 miles.

These would have to be up there with the most travelled. The yellow 22 was picked up on CL in L.A. shipped to Georgia then boxed up with the Simpsons 22, SJ and the 18 and shipped to Sydney Australia
Oh the joy of opening that box!
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

@Golly's cado has travelled further I think. There's quite a back story to that

My first Weber Junior accompanied its previous owner from Washington state to Great Britain then to Japan and back. I got a 26.75" from the Boston area to here. Shipped a SJ to upstate New York that ended up in Canada. Shipped several to the midwest.
I cook on: Backwoods Gater, Lang 36, Hunsaker Smokers, Pellet Pro 22" WSM, BGE's, WSM's, Cajun Bandits, PK Grills, Drum Smokers, Genesis Silver C, Weber Q's, Cookshack 008, Little Chief, La Caja China #2, Lodge Sportsman...oh yeah! Weber Kettles! Kamado restoration and pit modification hack!

@Golly- Is this the story on your 18" lime?

http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/trading-post/18-5-lime-or-avacado-valpo-ind/msg5886/#msg5886

If it is that little lime really has an interesting history. Even more so now that it is a traveler to OZ.
