I'm not sure I understand this one. Is this to fit more charcoal in the chimney or to cook with the chimney upside down or neither?

From what I can tell you could get more coals in the chimney and the coals would light faster because they'd be closer to the fire source. Win win

It gets the flame closer to the fuel. Its easy to do. Dont be afraid to bend stuff around.
