Salvaging the square nuts
« on: July 02, 2016, 07:02:45 PM »
If this has already been covered somewhere, I'm sorry, but I didn't really search for it before I made the video. Any ways, I'm in the midst of using 3 gassers to make 1 and 2 of the square nuts on the lower frame rails were gone. I had shorter rails from another frame that I could steal from so I came up with this idea. I only videoed it because I'm trying to get used to documenting things, like builds and restorations and grilling videos for my daughters. Enjoy!

Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed they could be saved. Keep in mind that replacements work well, too!

^^ for both SS Performers and the old gasser frames.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I thought there might be an available replacement but didn't look for it either. It was fun to try and now I know it can be done. and its funny you found that at McMaster-Carr, McMaster is my last name but sadly no connection...LOL
