I will definitely keep that in mind. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do with it. The bottom vents are in bad shape, and I actually want to make it in usable condition...so I'm thinking about replacing those as well. Would it work if I bought replacement vents, say from a smokey mountain?

Post some pictures of the vents.  They might be salvageable.  There are lost of experts around here that will have some advice if they can see what you are working with.

I remember a post where someone used a new set of smokey mountain cooker daisy wheels and cut the tabs to make them look like the old style vents.  I can't find the thread anymore, was it you @Craig?

That thread does help out @Neil_VT00. Especially with figuring out what to do with the vents. I will have to take a look at the wheels. What kind of wheels do you have?
